Transport Canada reduced to on-call Arctic surveillance this summer, documents show

Transport Canada adopted a “reactive posture” in overflights of the Arctic this past summer. The move was made necessary due to a broken aircraft, overtime restrictions and the absence of a drone, which was purchased five years ago but has yet to arrive.
